Original songs. Distinctive voices. Stories worth telling.

McConnell & Cooke are a Queensland-based musical duo creating and performing original songs that cross genres, explore emotions and celebrate the art of storytelling through music.

Featuring the contrasting yet complementary voices of Gloria McConnell and Jeff Cooke, their music moves comfortably between contemporary country, blues-rock, folk, pop-rock and the intimate atmosphere of late-night lounge.

At the heart of every McConnell & Cooke song is a story worth telling. Their lyrics are carefully crafted, with characters, emotions and narratives that unfold with purpose. Whether playful and upbeat, reflective or deeply personal, each song has something to say.

But the words are only half the experience. Every story calls for its own musical setting — a melody that captures its mood, a rhythm that carries it forward, and an arrangement that brings its emotions to life. The result is music that aims to be as compelling to listen to as the stories are to follow.

Based in the small Central Queensland town of Monto, McConnell & Cooke bring their growing catalogue of original songs to life through live performance and recorded productions.

Different stories. Different sounds. Two voices. One musical journey.
